We are just starting a poetry unit in ELA and I am excited to incorporate some new technology into our learning. The first type of poem we will be discussing is the acrostic poem. Below you find the lesson on how to write an acrostic poem. Please stayed tuned the students own acrostic poems!

It has been awhile

Well it has been awhile since we have been last on here!  I feel like we have all been so busy these last couple months that it is hard to find the time to get on here! So here is what we have been up to the last few weeks.

In math were learning about shapes and 3D objects. - Cole Patton

In ELA we have been learning about capitals and punctuation. We have also been talking about the elements of a story, we have started writing our own stories. - Ben Walz

In science we are learning about animal groups. I know a lot about them. - Colton Whittleton

In art we are making something for our mom's but it is top secret! - Quinn Zunti

Hi my name is Colton Whittleton.in art we are making hart animals.in Sciencewe are making pinwheels.We had jump rope for heart we jumped for a long time in was awesome.

100th Day of School

On Thursday, February 7 the Grade 2 and 3 students celebrated their 100^th day of school. We celebrated their accomplishment by doing various activities throughout the day. We had a scavenger hunt, LEGO building contest, wrote our bucket lists for things that we want to do before we are 100 and made some pretty cool hats. Overall, it was a great day and cannot wait to do it again next year!

The Grade 2/3 ELA class have just completed thier Major Storyteller Project. Each student was asked to find someone from the community to tell them a story. The students needed to re-tell the story in thier own words and create it into some type of story. Some students created story books, picture books and others did thiers on the computer. Welcome Back

Well we are back from our Christmas break and ready to learn! The weather outside is so beautiful! The snow is melting and king of the hill is our favourite outdoor game. We are busy creating some cool scratchboards in art - pictures will be coming soon! Finally, in ELA we are the Major Storytellers. We are telling stories using different media about things that have happened to our families in the community. As soon as we are finished will post for viewing!
